The Discovery Zone is different to other ‘start your own business’ or ‘back to work’ programmes. Yes, it is aimed at helping you develop your own business ideas or helping your career get back on track, but it’s also way more than a training course…

Discovery Zone is highly intensive and it’s focused around helping you to achieve your potential, says its founder Gerry Moan. It is a programme of blended learning, training, mentoring, support and connections. By the time you have finished the Discovery Zone Programme you’ll have plotted your path and you’ll be well on the way to achieving it.

And we have the results to prove it:

• 83% of participants became or re-established themselves as entrepreneurs. Of these:
• 27% started a new business
• 30% strengthened their existing idea
• 26% have viable projects they plan to further research

• A further 17% of participants secured new full-time jobs as a result of the coaching received from the Discovery Zone team.

The details?

The Discovery Zone is a 12-week programme which aims to help graduates reach their full potential. The programme is being delivered in partnership with Donegal County Enterprise Board (DCEB), Donegal County Council and Letterkenny Institute of Technology.

The Donegal co-ordinator for the programme is Ursula Donnelly, Assistant CEO at the Donegal County Enterprise Board. Ursula says that to apply, you must have graduated from a third level college in the past 5 years, and be prepared to commit to 3 days a week for the duration of the 12-weeks programme. “The programme is fully-funded so there is no cost involved but applications close on Friday 22nd March,” she adds.
