Inis Communications director Trish Hegarty is to deliver a workshop about Online PR on the opening day of Derry’s 4-day Culture Tech Fest of digital technology, media and music, which runs from Wed 29th August to Saturday 1st September.  The former Irish Times and BBC journalist will discuss how to create quality news content for your website and social media and planning your Online PR.    The session runs from 10-11am at The Playhouse on Artillery Street on Wed 29th August, and Trish will be available for one-to-one consultation with local business owners from 11am-12pm.  The session is part of a day’s workshops aimed at local businesses and run in conjunction with Digital Derry – the CultureTechFest organisers – and the Chamber of Commerce.

The practical working session will look at crafting news stories based on your business activities and interests to create a range of lively and good quality content for both your website news/blogs and social media posting. Topics to be covered include: Creating news hooks; Using and promoting your own Expertise; Harnessing news opportunities/reacting to news; Following trends; Creating your own news: Researching including surveys.
