If baking is your post-Covid addiction, then the Gap Coffee Shop, Bridgend have just the thing for you! They have launched a new recipe book of cakes, breads, biscuits and treats, which are favourites with their customers.
The popular coffee shop has earned a great reputation for its quality home-baking since it opened in 2013 and their recipes get a great response on their Facebook Page. “So, we decided to share the recipes with our customers and others in this new book,” says the book’s writer and café co-owner, Anne Doherty.
“This is a family baking book with recipes that will survive for generations to come. My mum was a great baker and opened her own café in Bridgend when I was a child. When I got fed up working behind a computer, I took over Doherty’s Café and loved starting the day early – baking breads, biscuits and cakes.”
Since opening The Gap Coffee Co, we have been able to grow the range of baked goods even further, such was the demand from our customers. They will be delighted to see their favourite treats in this new book!”
Easy Recipes for Gap Coffee fans
“Most of the recipes are really easy and made with simple ingredients which can be sourced in any small local shop. We have lots of simple everyday crowd pleasers, such as scones, Guinness bread and shortbread biscuits. For special occasions, we’ve also got some show-stopping stunners, such as blackberry and lime cake, chocolate and orange cake, lemon posset, and Christmas cake.”
Anne says that each recipe “proves that delicious perfection is within reach for any baker. We use fresh fruits to colour and flavour the cakes. We also have many great baking tips to help you get the best results and we have included ten super gluten-free recipes.”
Every recipe is presented with beautiful high-quality images that help you see the end result, she adds.
