Inis Communications is delighted to mark the 50th birthday of Errigal Seafood this month and we were privileged to write and edit the book which was published to celebrate the occasion this year. Errigal Seafood – based in the West Donegal Gaeltacht townland of Mín an Aoire, outside Carrick – started out in life as a food processing co-operative, founded by the legendary Fr. James McDyer to create local employment.
Today it is a multi-million euro company supplying many of the major retailers in France, Italy, Portugal, Sweden and Spain, as well as exporting to customers as far afield as Korea and Japan – making it one of Donegal’s success stories.
Inis Communications enjoyed talking to current and former staff, customers and suppliers during the writing and editing process and working alongside photographer Jacques Piraprez Nutan and publishers Guildhall Press, in making this project a success. Here’s to another 50 successful years for Errigal Seafood!
