The Donegal Volunteer Centre (DVC) has completed the second phase of its 2008 PR campaign with a training programme aimed at giving them the skills to conduct their own PR campaigns in the future.
“Earlier this year, we initiated a two-phase campaign with Inis Communications to promote the opening of our new centre in May and to publicise “Give it a Swirl Day” – the National Day of Volunteering – in September,” said DVC manager Colleen Boyle.
“Inis Communications worked hand-in-hand with us over this period so that we would understand the whole process and learn from it, and then we finished the programme off with workshops in running your own PR and radio interview training. The experience we gained from working so closely on delivering the PR campaign helped us to get more from the training, so we now have the skills and confidence we need to plan and produce our own PR in the future.”
